Octronica is an annual showcase of local electronic music and live performance. The event has historically taken place in Tallahassee, but this year is expanding out to Havana, FL where the event will be held at the historic Cannery.

The event will take place on October 24th at 8pm. The showcase will feature multiple stages and performers, including the founder of the event, Glenn Swan.

Swan recently sat down with host Josh Johnson on an episode of The Warehouse on WFSU. He says the event has grown over the years. “It's my baby, and I've worked very hard to make it available and intriguing, entertaining, accessible and unbiased in its presentation."

Glenn Swan stops by to discuss the origins of Octronica (an electronic music event), how he founded it, and what attendees can expect this year...

Swan says attendees can expect “some visual components… Chris Faupel from the Tallahassee Film Festival, he is going to provide background images as he did last year. So, sort of a video collage, you know, giving some extra artwork. And I know that's par for the course for most electronic festivals, you've got to have visuals”.

Swan describes a more stripped back visual component but encourages guests to get festive. "No actual laser arrays or fog machines or explosions, but some nice lights and maybe a few skeletons in the corner because it is just a week before Halloween. So, we're encouraging people to wear costumes and make the most of it”.

You can check out more info on the event at Octronica’s website.
